There are many uses for apple cider vinegar, which is often abbreviated as ACV. It is a popular home remedy for a healthy family. In the past, apple cider vinegar was used mainly for cooking purposes, like making pickles and dressing salads. In recent years, ACV has become more popular as a health and beauty tonic, and it is now sold in the health supplement aisle as well as in the condiment aisle of many grocery stores. Apple cider vinegar is readily accessible and is inexpensive. Uses for this type of vinegar include health benefits, cleaning, pets, beauty, weight loss and more!
First, a little bit more about this type of vinegar. It is made from apples and has a pale amber color. It is also referred to simply as cider vinegar.
As a health aid, ACV can help relieve acid reflux, acne, allergies, lice, flu, high cholesterol, sore throat, arthritis, skin conditions and high blood pressure. It is said that Hippocrates (of the Hippocratic Oath) used this type of vinegar as a health tonic, and some American soldiers may have used it to combat indigestion, cure pneumonia and reduce the risk of scurvy.
It has been reported that apple cider vinegar can help keep fleas and ticks away, improve the health of a pet’s skin, and make their coat shiny.
Although it may not be the most appetizing beverage, drinking the raw vineger is said to have many health benefits, and provides the complexion with a rosy glow! Many people also use apple cider vinegar as their regular conditioner after shampooing in the shower.
Recently it has been shown that one of the many uses for apple cider vinegar may be weight loss. For thousands of years, white vinegar has been used for weight loss, as it helps people feel full. The same could be true for ACV.
Many people take two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar every day to maximize its benefits. Although some of the recommended uses of apple cider vinegar have not been proven, studies are showing positive results. It is certainly worth giving it a try. You may very well end up with better health, fewer pet problems and nice, shiny hair.
